EL Charro in West Plains

They tried seating is at a dirty table. But the food was GREAT so that's why the 4 stars instead of 5.

Just getting a order to go wasn't the best, had food that we didn't recieve so wasn't happy that day. It pays to check food and also to stay- in to eat. Pretty sad though.

I love the relaxed atmosphere I find here. Quiet while still having that "table at home" feeling. Staff is on the ball and they know their menus by heart. The food had never disappointed in flavor or temperature.And don't get me started in the desserts.. they are mouth watering!The prices here are very comparable to others in the area and well worth every dime !

Food was OK. However, it took a long time for our order to be taken... and our waiter did not tell us to pay at the front desk, so we sat longer at our table than we needed to.The ambience is good, if a little dark, and some of the furniture needs repair. Knowing what we know now, we would give it a second chance.

I absolutely love the crab meat enchiladas!! The waiter and waitress we're delightful. I think my table is always a highlight of their day !!! "We are happy, and we're not afraid to show it"

Their carnitas tacos are incredible. Ask for their hot salsa if you can handle a bit more heat. Drink the huge draught mug of Did Equis Amber to wash it down.

The food is good, clean establishment, the staff is very nice and you get free salsa and chips... Who doesn't like that? Prices are what you would expect from a restaurant. Not too expensive unless you are ordering something with steak, etc... you can get to-go orders and they have a good amount of food in them. We eat here relatively often and we enjoy it.

Fabuloso food, watch out for the azul magarita, it is very (too) large. Had a great lunch of fajita salad

Great food, fast service.

The Chorizo Fondido should of been served in a bowl and been less Chorizo and more Fondido. The guacamole would of been better if it had chopped up tomatoes, onions & cilantro in it.Otherwise we had a good experience.

What can I say, hands down a very good authentic latino restaurant, food is good, staff is friendly, and the food comes quick. Margaritas are definitely a must.

The only reason they're getting one star is because I can't make a comment unless I put a star on there but let me explain one thing do not and I repeat do not eat at this place. Me and my husband ate there in West Plains , Missouri... as soon as we left we both had to hit the toilet. And when I say hit the toilet it ain't coming from my mouth. Steer clear of this place it is not right there food is not right it is the most disgusting and Bland Mexican food you'll ever have in your life bad bad bad

Best on menu? Mariscada, without a doubt. And you will probably not find that at any other average Mexican restaurant. The beverages are imaginative and well executed. The service is top-notch, and we can't resist coming to El Charro whenever we visit West Plains. Favorite restaurant in town.

The food is great and the service is beyond great! All of the employees help each other and not one of the employees is concerned that it "is not my job", they all are helping each other! We were there tonight and witnessed the extraordinary help they provide for each other.

They were pretty much slammed this evening. Service was great. Food came out fast, as ordered and hot. What more could you ask for?

One of my favorites! I have never had a single complaint about the food or service here.

Excellent food!!! I mean this is the best I've had in a long time! The tacos are superb, I mean this pork is delicious. This is a beautiful restaurant / beautiful atmosphere, great service. We sat down and ordered and we were served within 10 minutes... and the food was absolutely to die for!!!! The salsa was hot the chips were delicious! I can't say enough about how much I liked this place. I really enjoyed it. I'll go back again and again and I'll tell all my friends how good it was.

Granted after 12 hours on the road we were tired, hungry and in need of a drink before returning to the hotel. That being said it is much better than your standard cookie cutter Mexican restaurant!

One of the staple restaurants of West Plains. Excellent service and excellent food. Not sure whether or not it's ethnically accurate, as it's not my culture, but it is run by actual Mexican Americans. (Lovely people!) Be warned that it's probably the busiest sit-down restaurant in town. That doesn't mean much on the off hours, but during lunch and especially on Sunday, you could be waiting a little bit.

Run by people who know authentic Mexican food. Very large portions of excellence food All meat and seafood cooked well in tasty sauces. Kids, families, groups will feel comfortable.

I have been to several El Charros but this one stands out. The Mexican decor was well done and interesting and provided a warm welcoming feel. Everything was clean and organized. Most importantly, the enchiladas vegetarians were completely amazing.

I tried a dish I had previously had at a Mexican restaurant, including zucchini, squash, chicken, mashed potatoes, and lots of cheese. It was delicious.
